Nestled in the serene town of Kattakkada, Kerala, Ursuline English Medium School has been nurturing young minds since its establishment in 2002. Guided by the values and vision of the Ursulines of Mary Immaculate, Kannur (Amala Province), our institution is dedicated to providing a balanced education that fosters academic excellence, personal growth, and moral integrity. In 2022, we proudly received our NOC, a milestone that reaffirms our dedication to excellence.
From its humble beginnings under the leadership of our first Principal, Sr. Caroline, the school has steadily grown into a vibrant learning community. Over the years, this mission has been carried forward by dedicated leaders, including Sr. Casoline, Sr. Nithya, Sr. Veena, and Sr. Jincy Jacob, who each served as Principals and helped shape the school’s progress. Today, the institution continues to thrive under the guidance of Sr. Shereen Mathew (Principal) and Sr. Liby Joseph (Vice Principal). With a team of 14 experienced teaching staff and 6 committed non-teaching staff, including our Accountant, Local Manager Sr. Ann George, and Office Staff Ms. Sindhu M., we ensure that every child receives the attention and care they deserve.
Our school currently serves over 200 students, offering them a well-rounded education. Beyond academics, we place strong emphasis on English proficiency, with specialized programs in communicative English available. We also believe in holistic development through a wide array of activities, including yoga, chess, Taekwondo, skating, and other co-curricular pursuits.
The school campus is a lively space where learning and play go hand in hand. Our beautiful park and spacious playground provide children with an environment to grow, explore, and enjoy their school years. Regular examinations are conducted, followed by evaluation sessions with parents (CPTA), ensuring transparency and a collaborative approach to each child’s progress.

With over three decades of dedicated service in the field of education, Sr. Shereen Mathew brings both experience and vision to her role as Principal of Ursuline English Medium School, Kattakada.
She began her career as a teacher in the District of Kannur, where she spent nearly 20 years shaping young minds and nurturing a love for learning. Her commitment to academic excellence and holistic development of students led her to take on leadership responsibilities, and for the past 10 years, she has been serving as a Principal in the Kasaragod District. During this time, she has successfully guided institutions at Vizhinjam and Kallamam under the Ursuline English Medium School network.
Under her leadership, Ursuline English Medium School—managed by the Ursulines of Mary Immaculate, Kannur—continues its mission of providing value-based education rooted in discipline, character formation, and academic excellence. Sr. Shereen is deeply committed to fostering an environment where students not only excel in academics but also grow as responsible, compassionate, and confident individuals ready to face the challenges of tomorrow.
